Clear help, without the runaround.

Tell us what went wrong and which browser you use. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, one-time codes, browsing history, or sensitive Rescue messages.

Quick checks

  • Protection: Confirm Deter is enabled on your browser's extensions page, then reopen the popup.
  • Access: Sign in again and choose Refresh access after a trial or payment change.
  • Email: Check spam or junk, then mark Deter messages as “Not spam” so future email reaches your inbox.
  • Billing: Use only the hosted checkout or Manage billing page opened by Deter. Never send card details by email.

Help by topic

Start with the right area.

Getting started

Install Deter from the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons, open the extension, complete setup, and activate Protection. Brave uses the Chrome Web Store listing.

Accounts

Use email and password or Google sign-in. For confirmation or recovery email, check spam or junk and mark Deter as “Not spam.” Recovery links open the Deter reset page.

Protection

Built-in adult-site rules work alongside your custom domains. Strict Mode adds a five-minute delay around disabling Protection; it is friction, not an impossible-to-bypass device lock.

Billing

Eligible accounts can start one seven-day trial. Paid access is monthly or yearly. Cancelling stops renewal while access continues through the already-paid date.

Rescue Coach

Open Rescue Coach only when you want brief support. Session and daily limits apply. It is not general chat, therapy, medical care, or emergency support.

Need immediate or professional support?

Deter and Rescue Coach are not therapy, crisis support, or emergency services. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. For medical or mental-health concerns, contact a qualified professional in your area.
